Truck Sucks!

So a friend of mine is getting married...and we decided to all get together and play soccer this morning before going out for his "night on the town". Well...my morning started out pretty normal...get up...get ready...leave with just about enough time to spare. Seemed like everything was going to be OK.

I was supposed to let Mike borrow my guitar...in order to do that...I needed to take it with me. The only problem was...I didn't have it in the truck. I realized this and decided to head back to the house. In the process...I also thought it was neccessary to stop for food and gas. After 10 minutes in the Roy Rogers drive thru...and 10 minutes at the gas station...I was ready to hit the road again...15 minutes behind schedule.

No problem right...I had the radar detector...so that should make up a few minutes...and I called Mike to tell him I was going to be late...new ETA...10:30...so everything was fine. (I was supposed to meet him at 10:20)

Well...that plan would have worked had it not been for the truck...old faithful...or least when it isnt raining. You have seen the car...not the truck...and for good reason. To say it was crappy would be an understatement for those who know.

Anyway...the truck decides that it wants to go one speed...an average of about 50. The problem is...the highway is pretty hilly. So I was hitting about 65 (the speed limit) downhill...and unfortunately maxing out at about 35 uphill...which is humiliating if you have ever had to experience it. Yes...I was "that guy". If you saw me...I appreciated the gestures.

So a 35 minute trip takes and hour and 20 minutes. What fun!

Deep Creek

Here begins the pictures and some of the stories from my New Years trip to Deep Creek Lake. This is a picture of the house we stayed in. Indoor pool, outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor hottubs, 9 bedrooms, sleeps a bunch.

My car (for now)

Here is a picture of my car...99 Corvette...had it for a while and I have decided to sell it for something a little more practical.

I'm back!

Well...I'm back and in one piece.

The trip was great. Any time you can get 20+ people together for a couple of days and not have any problems...you must be having a good time. Can't think of any super exciting stories to tell right off the top of my head. I am working to find the best way to host images so that I can put up some of the pictures I have taken. (If anyone is actually reading this and has some advice...let me know.)

We ending up playing poker...finished second and in the money in our little tournament...not bad. Went bowling...yeah I know...who goes bowling on their vacation? Well...it was actually pretty fun even though I did miserable.

Well...I guess I will keep trying to add to this thing...I have now put a link to one of my old coworkers sites...he also went on the trip and should probably have some pics.
